Danish and English law

A large part of the Danish reinsurance business is currently conducted via London and as a consequence much reinsurance case law is based on UK law and established by the UK courts.

Reinsurance advice is frequently necessary as the Danish companies' agreements usually contain a governing law clause stipulating Danish law when placing reinsurance abroad and as a consequence advice on Danish reinsurance law is necessary. It is a delicate area as only very limited literature and case law are available on the subject.
