Branches

Foreign companies can operate in Denmark through a branch.

To establish a branch, the foreign company must be domiciled in the EU or EEA. Other foreign companies may operate in Denmark through a branch if sanctioned by an international agreement or if the Danish Commerce and Companies Agency grants its approval.

Updating branch status

All Danish branches must register at least one branch manager with the Danish Commerce and Companies Agency. The branch manager is responsible for managing the branch.

It is important that matters that need to be registered about e.g. management and power to bind the company are updated regularly, as this optimises the possibility of acting on behalf of the branch.
